Five Bears Score In Double Figures as Baylor Dominates Utah Tech, 97-34

WACO, Texas - Baylor (10-2) closed out its four-game non-conference homestand with a dominating 97-34 victory over the Utah Tech Trailblazers (4-8) on Wednesday afternoon at Foster Pavilion.

In the win, five different Bears scored in double figures — Yaya Felder (18), Darianna Littlepage-Buggs (16), Bella Fontleroy (11), Sarah Andrews (11) and Waiata Jennings (11).

Baylor’s defense forced Utah Tech to turn the ball over 31 times in the contest, and the Bears scored 40 points off turnovers.

Baylor jumped out to a quick lead and never looked back, capping off the first quarter on an Andrews 3-pointer at the buzzer. Andrews finished with 11 points on 4-of-9 shooting and eight assists.

In the second quarter, Baylor got solid contributions off the bench from Jennings and center Kyla Abraham (Jr.). Jennings scored a season-high 11 points on 4-of-6 shooting, while Abraham collected five rebounds and three blocks off the bench.

Entering Wednesday, Utah Tech averaged 34 shots beyond the arc per game, but the Bears held the Trailblazers just 23 shots from deep and a 17% 3-point percentage.

Baylor out-scored Utah Tech in the second half, 41-to-18. Felder delivered 13 of her team-high 18 points in the second half.

The Bears will head to Lawrence to open conference play against the Kansas Jayhawks (10-1) at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 21, at Allen Fieldhouse.
