Auburn quarterback Walker White has committed to Baylor following his official visit last week, according to a post on his Instagram. He has four years of eligibility remaining and will begin his career at Baylor as a backup to rising redshirt senior Sawyer Robertson.

White was a consensus four-star prospect and top 100 recruit in the 2024 class. 247Sports had him rated as the No. 41 prospect in the nation and the No. 5 quarterback in the class.

Baylor has only landed five top-50 high school prospects since 2000; White would be the sixth. He is also the highest-rated high school quarterback prospect Baylor has ever landed, only behind Jarrett Stidham.

During his high school career, White threw for 6,740 yards with 80 touchdowns and 26 interceptions while competing 56.7% of his passes. He also added 1,842 yards and 30 touchdowns on the ground.

During his high school recruitment, he received offers from Alabama, Clemson, Florida, LSU, Miami, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Pitt, TCU and Texas A&M, among others.

Former Baylor quarterbacks coach Shawn Bell made him a priority in the class, but White ultimately chose Auburn over Clemson and Baylor.

The 6-foot-3, 225-pound prospect redshirted this past season but saw some action in a win over UL-Monroe, completing two passes for 18 yards.

Baylor currently has three quarterbacks on scholarship: redshirt senior Sawyer Robertson, redshirt freshman Nate Bennett and true freshman Edward Griffin.

Wow, very interesting pull. Isn't our QB room going to be overloaded with the HS commits too?

Regardless of what our national transfer portal/recruiting class ranking, overall we seem to be getting better quality players than in the recent past. Hopefully we can maintain this momentum, as we attempt to realign the stars in our favor.

I don't think you can have too many. Unfortunately the bad side of the portal is that programs like the Baylors, TCUs, OSUs and the list goes on never will have too many again like we did under Briles.

No one should just receive an annointment of being the guy and working everything around that. We all should have learned that from our dumb strategy with that Novofraud family and kid.

This is huge for QB depth and development.

Not really. We are probably set until 2026 though. Theoretically, we will have Bennett, Griffin, White, and Murphy to start the 2026 season. Three scholarship quarterbacks is kind of a minimum, four is better, five is probably too many

Big time yet! It will be very interesting to see him and Ed Griffin battle it out in 2026. I'll admit I watched just about every video of him that I could when I heard that he was visiting campus. Dude is still a little raw as a passer but has moments where you can see high-level NFL talent type throws. Big guy, very good athlete. I would say he is more of a Bohannon than a Robertson, and we absolutely could use him in a short yardage situations because of his size and athleticism.

Are all of our slots taken now or is there one more portal recruit we can take. In other words if we had 10 transfer out is this transfer number 9 in or 10?

I think they are still after that linebacker from Oregon unless he's committed elsewhere

Thats what redshirting is for. Cant get caught with our pants down again. Novosad taught them valuable lesson. #1 NIL matters. #2 Dont put all your eggs (especially at QB) in 1 basket.
This kid can come in and learn the system behind Sawyer. Then he and the high school kids can dual it out to see who is next in line. May the best QB win... all about competing and high caliber players dont mind proving they are the better player

Baylor QBs tend to get banged up so the 2 HS QBs just need to know their chances will come when they least expected it. Ask Robertson if he expected to be where he is now when Flinn showed up.

And all of those QBs are like separated by like 1-2 classes. I feel like two of those four will have to transfer for playing time

Speaking of Novosad, what's the latest on him? Is he 3rd/4th string on OR depth chart? Crickets chirping where he's concerned.

.

There are five who are within one year of each other and have four years of eligibility left. White and Bennett are both redshirt freshman, so same class. We already have two others as freshman or redshirt freshmen on the roster, Tessier and McHenry.

Is there any chance BU offers RB/LB Jayden Jackson from Franklin, Bryson's backfield partner in high school. He's about 15 pounds bigger than Washington and is a stud. He's one of only 13 RB's in Texas history to rush for over 8000 yards. He's uncommitted but has offers from TT and So Carolina

The running back room is pretty full at the moment. Michael Turner in the current class is no slouch

Just stop. You are naming guys that have no chance of seeing the field. Every roster has guys on it that will end up with a a dozen snaps by the time they graduate. You definitely listed a couple of scout team only guys

Probably not. We have an All American RB coming in Caden Knighten. He was the MVP of the recent all American game

Forgot about him. Running back is probably our deepest/strongest position right now TBH

No clue. Pure speculation on my part, but my guess is that he enjoys the good life making some nice NIL money at Oregon and then transfers for his last year of eligibility or two to some place like North Texas, UTSA, etc.

Jackson is a stud. He actually outplayed Washington in the 2022 state championship game against Brock. Whoever gets him will be very happy. But with Knighten and Turner coming in this class, we're loaded at the running back position.

White would be the 3rd highest rated QB in the last 30 years behind Odell James and Stidham.
