Baylor and Samford to Face off on September 13, 2025
WACO, Texas -- Baylor football has completed its non-conference schedule for the 2025 season by adding Samford for the third week of the season, set to play the Bulldogs on Sept. 13 at McLane Stadium.
The Bears will have a rugged schedule in 2025 that features 11 power-4 conference opponents, including a season opener on Aug. 30 vs. Auburn and the following matchup at SMU on Sept. 6 in Dallas.
Baylor will also play a nine-game league slate in the Big 12 Conference that features home games vs. Arizona State, Houston, Kansas State, UCF and Utah. The Bears will hit the road in conference play to face Arizona, Cincinnati, Oklahoma State and TCU.
Dates for conference games will be announced by the Big 12 office.
This marks the third all-time meeting with Samford, all held in Waco, starting in 2002 with a 56-12 win. The last meeting was in 2005, a 48-14 win.
Both Baylor and Samford are leading Christian universities rooted in the Baptist denomination. Additionally, Samford is led by President Dr. Beck A. Taylor, who spent 1997-2005 as the associate dean for research and faculty development and the W.H. Smith Professor of Economics at Baylor, and is a BU graduate. Samford, a private university located in Homewood, Ala., was founded by Baptists in 1841.
