Baylor to Hire Former Georgia Bulldog to Coach its Outside Linebackers
Baylor is set to hire Western Kentucky’s Carson Hall as its new outside linebackers coach, SicEm365 has confirmed. Matt Zenitz of 247Sports was the first to report the news on Saturday evening.
Hall, who was promoted to run game coordinator in January for the Hilltoppers, has coached the defensive line each of the past two seasons. He was named a 30-under-30 top young coach by 247Sports in 2024.
Strong play from Hall's defensive line unit helped the Hilltoppers earn a berth in the 2024 Conference USA Championship Game and the Boca Raton Bowl. WKU finished fourth in the league in sacks and was third in the league in turnovers gained in 2024. The Hilltoppers earned a berth in the Conference USA Championship Game this past season.
Hall coached numerous players to All-Conference USA honors during his second season at WKU, highlighted by an All-CUSA First Team Defense selection in defensive tackle Hosea Wheeler, who led the league in tackles from a defensive tackle. Defensive tackle Dallas Walker and defensive end Deante McCray received All-CUSA Honorable Mention status.
Hall joined WKU as the team's Defensive Line Coach in March 2023, after a two-year run at Georgia, where he helped the Bulldogs to a 29-1 record and back-to-back National Championships.
At Georgia, Hall helped develop multiple first-round NFL Draft picks, including Travon Walker, Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis and Devonte Wyatt.
