Top Quotes

Head coach Nicki Collen on the back half of conference play:

  • “When you get to conference play, when your goal is to win a conference championship, you have to hold serve, and we can’t lose. Do I think we have a team that can win every game on the schedule? Yes. Does that mean we’re going to win every game on our schedule? I hope it does from this point on, but certainly, you have to go out, and you have to win them.”

Guard Sarah Andrews (5Sr.) on the back half of conference play:

  • “I think you learn that everybody in the Big 12 is good. Anybody in the league can be beaten. Going into the second half, it’s a blessing that we’re still at the top. We still have a chance to compete for a conference championship.”

Go Bears !! Now who do we want to win tonight between Kansas St. and TCU ???

I will root for K.St. they have 5 games left against the top 7 teams in conference play so they will have more opportunities to lose. TCU only has 3 games left against the top 7.. Regardless we will play them both before the season is over , so hopefully we can put a big 'L' on their records ..

They tried throwing it down to Vonleh twice and she made no attempt to catch the ball, just watched it sail over her head out of bounds.
And Yaya has missed 3 layups

Listening to our game via ESPN+ was brutal. This pair may have been the worst announcers I have EVER heard. I had rather have listened to "homers" than to listen to that pair. The absolute worst. Had either ever broadcast a game before?

I liked when they opened the broadcast saying it was a volleyball game.

And at the end of the quarter we were holding the ball to reduce the time, and they commented that we looked winded because we were just dribbling out so much of the clock, as if they had never seen that end-of-quarter strategy before.

In their favor:

They had little to work with since UH was down to 6 players (but kudos to UH for keeping on playing, unlike TCU who forfeited several games last year in the same situation).

At one point they said that in honor of women and girls in sports week, they had an all-female student camera crew (that was much much much better than the abomination at TexasSt a few years ago).

On the other hand:

At one point they were going on about DLB shooting FTs, while it was Kyla Abraham bricking a pair.

In addition to referring to Aliyah "Martha Are You" they kept saying Bella "Font Leroy".
