Top Quotes

Head coach Nicki Collen on what to expect from No. 12 Kansas State:

  • “Everything they do starts with defense. But I think they stretch you out a lot like Iowa State. We’re going to face three teams in a row that have a post presence, shooters all over and great spacing. Being able to disrupt their spacing will be really important.”

I was wondering if they women have made it to KAnsas State yet. I would think so. I only ask as we usually get to see them on their journey. Let's beat the Cats.

At the risk of exaggeration, I think today begins the most critical seven-day stretch in the history of this program since Mulkey left. This two-game season could set the tone for the next decade.

I hope I'm not forced to eat crow tonight. But I don't think BU has any issues tonight. kSUs ranking and record are both heavily inflated. BU is a poor matchup for them.

I think a lot depends on three factors.
  • How much can she play and how effective is Lee.
  • Vonleh has got to stay on the court
  • We can't have a night when we can't hit the ocean on open shots

Hope so too. Pressure…turn them over and run, run, run. We are deeper, Lee's injury/conditioning will be hard for her to keep pace. Start FAST

It will be interesting to see how Lee performs. I can't believe she will be close to 100% or will play a lot of minutes but we shall see.

There's no way she's anywhere near 100%. She played very little Saturday and looked hurt.

Agree about Lee! I'm more concerned with Sundell, the 6-2 guard! She scores a lot, very talented.

Yes, I have that same assessment - Did they bring her back too soon ?? - I hate that Buggs is not available but better to give her all the time she needs to be 100.0% even though a 75.0% Buggs is better then a lot of others playing at 100.0%. Buggs has earned and deserves prudent management of her health.- not to mention what a confidence booster for the team a win over K State would be !!!

I'm surprised they brought her back this soon; I figured they'd wait until the Big12 tourney at the earliest. If she aggravates her injury, she could be lost for the rest of the season. Since it's her last year, she might have pushed it.

I just want us to play well, not commit silly fouls and have a decent night shooting and at the line. If a team proves they are better, I don't feel bad about losing. But if you hand the opponent the game on a silver platter, that is excruciating.

I thought she looked very uncomfortable.

Agree with everyone above! And if I remember Lee has struggled with injuries during her time in Manhattan. Gotta wonder if they rushed her back knowing seeding was on the line. But at the same time maybe she was near 100% and tweaked something. But she definitely looked off in her limited time.
As far as Buggs I honestly wouldn't play her until the NCAAS unless of course she's 100%. The risk far outweighs the reward. We're going to be a 6 seed or higher regardless so rest her until she's 100% ready
