Head coach Nicki Collen and Baylor have secured a commitment from North Dakota forward Kiera Pemberton out of the transfer portal. Pemberton chose Baylor over Arizona State and becomes the second offseason addition, joining rising redshirt sophomore Auburn guard Taliah Scott.
Pemberton, a 6-foot-1 forward, led North Dakota in scoring and rebounding this season, averaging 16.7 points and 7.2 rebounds per game. She shot 53% from the floor and 74% from the free-throw line, at a high volume, averaging five shots from the charity stripe per contest.
Across two seasons at North Dakota, Pemberton played in 68 contests, tabbing 49 starts. As a freshman, she averaged 10.5 points and 6.6 rebounds per game. After attempting only six shots from beyond the arc as a freshman, Pemberton increased her 3-point volume as a sophomore, drilling 18 of 55 attempts (33%).
Pemberton is from Langley, British Columbia and averaged 34 points and 14 rebounds per contest as a senior at Walnut Grove Secondary. She has represented her home nation of Canada at the FIBA U-16 Women's Americas Championship.
Pemberton is a rising junior and has two years of eligibility remaining.
