Baylor, Big 12 Win Totals Set for 2025 Season
Sit-Down with Sawyer Robertson: Baylor's QB1 Talks Spring Football, '25 Expectations, More
With spring football over and summer workouts looming, Circa Sports has unveiled its regular-season win total projections for all 16 Big 12 programs heading into the 2025 season. The release offers a baseline for expectations across a deep and unpredictable league.
Top of the Board
Three teams share the top spot in the win total projections:
- Arizona State – 8.5 wins
- Kansas State – 8.5 wins
- Texas Tech – 8.5 wins
Each of these programs is expected to contend for a Big 12 title berth. Kansas State returns an exciting quarterback who is expected to improve, while Texas Tech’s transfer portal haul under Joey McGuire has created a big buzz. Arizona State, entering just its second year in the league, is viewed as a contender again after the CFP run in 2024.
A Cluster at 7.5-Wins
A crowded middle tier features six teams, all projected at 7.5 wins:
- Baylor
- BYU
- Iowa State
- Kansas
- Utah
- TCU
This group is a mixed bag of teams with solid upsides but question marks. Utah is viewed as potentially having a bounce-back season, while Baylor is viewed similarly as a year ago after an improved season. Kansas and Iowa State return experienced quarterbacks and could easily outperform these marks.
Fringe Bowl Hopefuls
- Houston – 6.5 wins
- Cincinnati – 6 wins
- Colorado – 6 wins
These teams sit just above or around the bowl eligibility threshold. Houston and Colorado both flashed potential in 2024 and now face different types of challenges under Willie Fritz and Deion Sanders.
Fighting to Exceed Expectations
At the bottom of the Circa Sports board:
- Arizona – 5.5 wins
- UCF – 5.5 wins
- Oklahoma State – 5 wins
- West Virginia – 5 wins
These totals reflect the brutal parity and constant churn of the Big 12, especially for perennial bowl participant Oklahoma State. With new coaches, West Virginia and UCF will both be looking to prove doubters wrong and secure postseason appearances. Arizona hopes to rebound in 2025 after a disappointing 2024 season.
