Duke transfer safety Placide Djungu-Sungu has signed with Baylor, per Pete Nakos. He becomes the third addition the coaching staff has made through the transfer portal this offseason, joining Northwestern transfer Devin Turner and Oregon transfer Tyler Turner.
The 6-foot-1, 170-pound prospect posted 18 tackles in 27 games played over the past four years. He has played just 94 total snaps on defense, but his primary role for the Blue Devils was on special teams, where he has played 130 snaps over the past three years.
He was a three-star prospect out of Arlington (TX) Martin High School in the 2021 recruiting class and chose Duke over offers from Northwestern, SMU, Washington, Utah and Tulane, among others.
The Bears needed to add depth at the safety position following the injury Devin Turner sustained during the Baylor Blitz at the end of spring football.
He has one year of eligibility remaining.
