Ponte Vedra Beach (FL) Nease High School 2026 three-star linebacker Jacob Curry‍ decommitted from Northwestern yesterday.

Curry was offered by the Baylor coaching staff a month ago, and the staff has continued to prioritize him by communicating with him daily. Linebacker’s coach Jamar Chaney and head coach Dave Aranda have been a big part of those conversations, along with general manager Aaron Hunt.

The 6-foot-1, 205-pound prospect put on a show over the spring as he earned Under Armour Camp MVP honors in Charlotte while posting a sub-4.5 40-time and a 37-inch vertical. Those results led to a ton of interest on the recruiting trail as he picked up offers from Kansas State, West Virginia, Northwestern, Rutgers, Baylor and Oklahoma.

He put together a very strong junior season as he posted 101 tackles, 12 for loss, eight sacks, seven pass breakups, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery.

The Bears missed on a couple of top linebackers in the spring but would like to add at least one more to the 2026 recruiting class. Curry is currently at the top of the list and is a prospect the Bears will likely push for an official visit with during or after the season.

Curry is a consensus three-star prospect.
