Epic fashion is right. Anyone got a cigarette?

Defense still needs help but did enough to get the job done. Offense was humming through the air, could've maybe gotten more push up front in the run game.

Excellent early season win for the Bears and a sure confidence builder. Get healthy and tuned up next week and we're looking sharp for ASU.

I know SMU has very dynamic offense but I would prefer not to have to score 48 points to win. All in all still a great win on the road against a Top 20 team.

1. Secondary is brutal. Its going to be a long season.
2. O line didn't really own the line of scrimmage again.
3. Offense looked good outside of the first two drives.
4. A lot of work to do, but we didn't quit, we persisted, and we found a way to win.

Didn't create the best running gaps but gave Sawyer PLENTY of time. Really solid pass protection.

The second half was like a different OL. Wow

Winning the game after being:

  • down 14 points in the 4th quarter
  • against a ranked team
  • on the road
is a rare feat indeed. What a comeback!

This year is shaping up to be a roller coaster ride.

QB1's stat line after 2 games is a thing of beauty.

Was. Has no bearing on whether they will be this year.

I know we're happy about that win, but we were so incredibly sloppy and shot ourselves in the foot every chance we could. And I'm not sure SMU will be a ranked team by the end of the season

SMUs conference schedule is much more difficult this year. Probably a 7-5 type season for them. They're similar to BU. Offense can score at will. Defense can't stop a nose bleed

I was impressed with SMU's front against the run. They held up well there. Not much pass rush, though.

But I suspect both Auburn and SMU's defense will look better when not going against our quarterback and receivers.

I also suspect our defense will look a little bit better against offenses with less talent than the two we've seen so far.

Based on what I've seen so far, I think Baylor, Auburn and SMU all look like 7-9 win teams.

All valid points. I still think it a noteworthy accomplishment that we defeated a ranked team on the road that was in the playoffs. We will get another chance in a couple weeks. Will any other Big 12 team play two playoff teams this season? I don't think so.

It would be good for us if both Auburn & SMU end the season ranked.

Better yet, Auburn wins the SEC and SMU, the ACC!
