STILLWATER, Okla. – No. 23 Baylor soccer closes out the regular season Thursday night at Oklahoma State, with kickoff set for 7 p.m. at Neal Patterson Stadium. The Bears finish their three-match road swing looking to build momentum heading into the Big 12 Championship. The match will stream live on ESPN+.
The Bears (11-3-3, 6-3-1 Big 12) enter Thursday’s matchup following a 1-1 draw at Houston. Baylor recorded a five-match win streak during conference play but has since dropped two of its last four, falling to both then-No.14 TCU and most recently UCF. Despite recent setbacks, this season marks the most wins of the Michelle Lenard era and the program’s highest total since 2018.
Oklahoma State (4-12-2, 0-9-1 Big 12) enters Thursday’s contest still seeking its first conference win of the season. The Cowgirls are coming off a 2-0 loss at West Virginia and last recorded a victory with a 5-1 win over East Texas A&M prior to the start of Big 12 play. OSU currently sits at the bottom of the conference standings heading into the final week of the regular season. This will mark the seventh-ranked opponent Oklahoma State has faced this year, as the Cowgirls hold an 0-5-1 record in those matchups.
Baylor and Oklahoma State are set to meet for the 33rd time, with the all-time series knotted at 14-14-4. The teams most recently faced off a season ago, where the Cowgirls earned a 1-0 victory in Waco. The Bears are looking to secure their first win over OSU with Lenard at the helm.
Baylor dropped to the No.23 spot in the latest United Soccer Coaches poll, released through matches played on Oct. 26. Two of three of the Bears’ losses this season have come against current top-15 opponents, No. 5 TCU and No. 15 Texas Tech, holding their RPI ranking at a strong No.10, OSU ranks 131 in the same NCAA metric.
