Baylor rising redshirt sophomore quarterback Walker White plans to enter the transfer portal, according to Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports.

In his lone season in Waco, White never took a snap and was the third-string quarterback behind Sawyer Robertson and Nate Bennett. White transferred to Baylor from Auburn last offseason.

White was a consensus four-star prospect and top 100 recruit in the 2024 class, and ultimately chose Auburn over Baylor and Clemson out of Little Rock Christian Academy. White redshirted the 2024 season at Auburn, only seeing time in a blowout win over UL Monroe.

During his high school career, White threw for 6,740 yards, 80 touchdowns and 26 interceptions while completing 56.7% of his passes. He also added 1,842 yards and 30 touchdowns on the ground.

The transfer portal window this offseason runs from Jan. 2 to Jan. 16.

I watched him during pregame warm ups and he was the least accurate of the four quarterbacks. Of course, I did not see him in practice but him not playing a down tells me something about what the coaches think about him. With his recruiting rating, he was probably making some serious coin. I say it is probably good to use his nil on some offensive and defensive linemen along with linebackers and receivers.

I wanted to see something from him. Odd timing. Being asked to leave?

Situations like Walker's makes me question ALL assessments of players not clear-cut uber 5*'s and the resulting recruiting games.

It was always a bad sign for white that Bennett was ahead of him on the depth chart. Or maybe a good sign for Bennett. Or both.

That and Jackson Arnold being highly regarded by recruiting rankings. He was not a good QB. Talented athlete, but a bad thrower of the football.

If he's so bad why did Baylor give him a decent chunk of money to be here?

They did not know. They saw his high four stars and gave it a shot. I do not fault them for bringing him in. I wonder if they told him he was not going to start next year so he would leave and maybe give us half the money to get a really good quarterback. Or maybe some really good big guys on both lines.

Are you surprised? We paid Finn too. Another QB who couldn't hit water throwing off a cruise ship in the Atlantic
