Rising sophomore Arkansas linebacker JJ Shelton has committed to Baylor via the transfer portal following his visit on Jan. 3, SicEm365 has learned.
The 6-foot-1, 202-pound prospect posted eight tackles, a sack and a pass breakup for the Razorbacks this fall; he totaled just 50 snaps, but saw time in nine contests.
Shelton was a three-star prospect in the 2025 recruiting class. He chose Arkansas over Baylor the first time around. He also held offers from TCU, SMU, Auburn, Michigan, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Tennessee, Texas, USC and Washington, among others.
He tallied 175 tackles, 16 tackles for loss, three sacks and three interceptions in his final two seasons at South Oak Cliff High School.
Shelton was a priority for the Baylor coaching staff during the 2025 cycle, and he has the versatility to play multiple positions inside the box for Baylor’s defense; he will have three seasons of eligibility remaining.
