Klanderman Connection Pays Off as Kansas State EDGE Ryan Davis Commits to Baylor
Kansas State rising redshirt junior EDGE Ryan Davis has committed to Baylor. He becomes the first Wildcat player to follow defensive coordinator Joe Klanderman, who arrived in Waco after six seasons at Kansas State.
The 6-foot-4, 252-pound prospect has eight tackles for loss, seven sacks, 27 pressures, five pass breakups and a forced fumble across two seasons in Manhattan.
He received a ton of buzz from players and coaches heading into the 2025 season, but injuries throughout the year set him back, and he played only six games.
Davis earned Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week honors in a win over Oklahoma State on Nov. 15, where he had a sack, forced a fumble and five QB pressures. He put together his best performance of his young career in the final week of the season against Colorado on Nov. 29, totaling six tackles, two sacks and five QB pressures.
He was the 15th-best overall prospect in the state of Arizona coming out of the 2023 recruiting class. Davis was listed as a three-star prospect and chose Kansas State out of Sandra Day O’Connor High School in Phoenix over Boise State, Oregon State and San Diego State.
Davis will have two seasons of eligibility remaining.
