Baylor Women's Basketball Earns No. 6 Seed in 2026 NCAA Tournament
DURHAM, N.C. – Baylor women’s basketball earned the No. 6 seed in the Sacramento 2 Regional of the 2026 NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament, as announced during the Selection Show on Sunday evening.
Head coach Nicki Collen’s Bears (24-8, 13-5 Big 12) are set to take on the winner of the No. 11 seed play-in game between Nebraska (18-12, 7-11 Big Ten) and Richmond (26-7, 15-3 A10) in the first round at Duke’s Cameron Indoor Stadium on Friday, March 20; the time is yet to be determined.
Baylor notably defeated Duke 58-52 in Paris in the season opener. Times for the opening round games will be released later.
The Bears are making their 22nd-straight NCAA Tournament appearance and 24th appearance overall. The Bears are 58-20 all-time in the Big Dance and have made 16 trips to the Sweet 16, including two years ago when Collen’s squad narrowly fell to the No. 1-seeded USC Trojans.
The No. 2 seed in the Bears’ region is Kim Mulkey’s LSU Tigers. The No. 1 seed is UCLA.
