Baylor plans to hire Duquesne athletic director Dave Harper as the school’s new executive senior associate athletic director, SicEm365 has confirmed; ESPN’s Pete Thamel first broke the news.
Harper will be responsible for overseeing our NIL efforts, including driving and maximizing revenue, while also ensuring Baylor implements best practices for the effective and efficient use of distributed funds.
At Duquesne, Harper’s tenure was marked by a major renovation of its basketball arena, a 2024 Atlantic 10 Men’s Basketball Championship, and a first-round NCAA Tournament victory over BYU — the program’s first tournament appearance since 1977. He started his career as a college football coach and, before joining Duquesne, served as Vice President for University Advancement at the University of Dayton.
In Baylor athletic director Doug McNamee’s letter introducing Harper, McNamee added, “While Dave’s track record, particularly in driving revenue, is incredibly strong, he is also an ideal fit for our university’s mission and is well-known across the industry as a leader of high character and a fearless builder. It says something incredibly positive about Baylor and this moment, that we can attract someone with Dave’s pedigree to join our team.”
