BREAKING: Baylor lands four-star DB Byron Hanspard, Jr.
Baylor has added a verbal commitment to their 2018 recruiting class from four-star defensive back Byron Hanspard, Jr. (DeSoto). The commitment from Hanspard (6-0, 170) comes a little over a week after his trip to Waco for an official visit to Baylor from Dec. 1-3.
The son of former Texas Tech great Byron Hanspard, Hanspard previously committed to Arkansas from March 15 to Nov. 29 before opening up his recruitment when head coach Brett Bielema was fired by the SEC program.
Along with Arkansas, Hanspard also held offers from Mississippi State, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, Oregon and West Virginia among several others.
In the spring of 2016 as a sophomore in high school, Hanspard clocked a 4.54-second 40-yard dash at The Opening Regional in Dallas. Along with a 39.0-inch vertical, Hanspard scored a 93.48 in the SPARQ rating system.
