Ten Things: Baylor at Oklahoma

September 29, 2018
13,400

Baylor travelled to Norman for their first road conference game of 2018. Here are the ten things I noticed during the game.

  1. Penalties and self-inflicted errors put Baylor in a hole
  2. Intensity is up for this game
  3. Miller looks to have missed an assignment on the third OU touchdown
  4. Denzel Mims has to compete for 50/50 balls
  5. Hasty has run with more power today
  6. The opening drive of the second half was beautiful
  7. And the missed play by a safety resulting in a long touchdown continues
  8. Thanks for being a disciplinarian Lincoln Riley, missing  the first 4 plays of a series is teaching a lesson
  9. Not discouraged by this game
  10. Texas wins next week

See you 10/6 at the tailgate against Kansas State

Brian, you are really negative... look at the positive.

We dominated where Rhule places his priorities.

We won time of possession 37 minutes to 23 for OU

We dominated number of offensive plays 103 to 58

We dominated number of passes 63 to 23.

We held them to only three red zone scores, one was a field goal.

We killed them in first downs 33 to 22

These are all goals Rhule has set...wish he would set a goal of scoring more than the opponent.

Most important....we taught our QB a lesson in toughness. Get torn in half. Meaningless possession. Get back out there and show how tough you are.

Exposing our best player in a meaningless situation when he's getting broken in half...abject stupidity.

OU ain't losing to Texas, no way, no how. Herman ain't got them there yet.

Mims shouldn't be thinking about leaving for the NFL next year. He's nowhere near ready. Gotta work on the hands.

Mims is def nfl ready, take off the blinders. He hurd and Thornton might be our best pro prospects in years. Or are the 5"11 receivers panning out???? Lol We're lucky to have such weapons on butthole tier line/defense play.

Mims is an NFL-ready physical specimen and athlete, but he'd be costing himself two rounds and a ton of money by declaring for the draft before he's proven he can consistently catch the ball in traffic. You don't have the types of windows in the NFL that you get in college, and NFL teams have little patience for receivers who can't make tough catches with regularity.

Love our WR's mims, thornton and Hurd. Really charges up the offense. They alone are worth the purchase price of a ticket. I dont know about Charlie/Jalen but our O-line is depressing. Seems like weve always allowed the huge plays and OU was looking super strong on O, so Idk about that. All in all, that's about what a #6 team in the country does to a rank 60 team, especially when their ace QB is on FIRE.

Im proud of our boys and I hope they keep working hard this year.

In that game, at that stadium, anything can happen. We ran 103 plays on their defense. The announcers even mentioned that being a concern going into the game this week. OU is currently favored by 7.5.

If Texas pulls out a win, it will be insufferable. "Texas is back!" Worse, they would have the inside track to be in the conference title game, after having already defeated Texas Christian.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. OU's defense is not good at all; they can't tackle worth a ***** And Texas's defense has looked really good in recent weeks. If UT can keep OU from getting off to a fast start, that game will be extremely close at the end.
