November 17, 2018
14,036

Baylor and TCU faced off Saturday November 17. Here are the ten things seen today.

  1. Protect the ball, -3 turnovers
  2. Cant commit stupid penalties
  3. B.J. Thompson is a kick blocking machine
  4. We can trust Connor Martin again
  5. Reagor is the player that can hurt Baylor and has done so
  6. Charlie Brewer has been all the offense
  7. Baylor hasn't picked up the blitz schemes all day
  8. Stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid penalties
  9. Too many drops
  10. Bring on Tech

These don't fully capture how terrible we played in the 11th game of the season. Are you not allowed to mention coaching?

Believe you may have forgot to mention that our offensive play calling could have been just a bit better.

I got 3
Out coached
Out played
Out classed
I should've stayed in bed and got some sleep. Easily our worst performance in our most important game. So disappointing!

Baylor defense > Baylor offense. What a weird place we are in.

Our offense couldn't adjust to the pressure.
Our offensive line is just out-manned game after game.
We need a new OC.

No way to sugarcoat this one. I don't think there were any positives or improvements.

We let two really bad QBs running a really bad offense complete 75% of their passes while committing no turnovers.

If you are only going to take one snap under Center during the game, don't do Int on first down in scoring position.
If you are only going to play the freshman OB one play, don't play him at all.

I figured they had to be setting something up, but he never took another snap. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

Zero imagination on offense. Clueless blocking execution.

Asinine coaching decisions throughout.

This game, to me, reminded me of the game last yr vs UTSA, never any rhythm. Their D just grinded us out.

Roberts "lining up offsides" penalty was an absolute killer. Had them stopped. They would later score on the 4th and 1 reverse on the same drive. Stupid, lazy, completely preventable penalties drive me nuts and help lose games.

11 games into the season and we are lining up offsides on key plays. This game was a huge setback for Matty.

Typical sicem...10 points and every one aimed at the players and not a single one at coaching staff incompetence.

Such a joke.

Actually #1, #2, #7, #8 all reflect on coaching.

Ball security is coached, discipline to avoid penalties is coaching and picking up blitz scheme's is devised in the film room, all the above reflect on coaching.

Being a young team, inconsistency is usually the norm. It is disheartening though, to see a team that beat Oklahoma State, who beat Texas and West Virginia, not to get a victory the last couple of weeks. Really comes down to coaching, and the players getting more experience, and maturing. I know it is hard for fans to be patient, but the bears, if they play their best ball, can beat Texas Tech. I hope they reach that milestone, of six wins, but even if they don't, I know that if recruiting goes well, and as the players mature, and learn the system, I look for much better times in 2019.

That was an embarrassment. Didn't act like they even wanted to go to a bowl game.

I honestly think that the fumble from Lynch on the opening drive started a cascade of negativism that we never overcame. If we had gone down and scored on the opening drive, I think we would have won by 20.

...if they play their best ball...

Is this even possible with what this coaching staff has shown? The players can't be at their best unless the coaches are at their best. If we've seen the best from this staff, well the next 2 years are gonna suck even worse than 2017 & 2018.

After the UTSA game this year, I said "this is not a bowl team." Then we beat OSU and got to 5 wins, with toad to go. Arch Enemy Toad. Senior Day. At home. Wait a minute...we got the MO...with some good bounces we get to 7!

Nope. As someone else said the OSU win was fools gold.

Whoever wins Saturday will "deserve" a bowl because they got 6 wins, but in truth neither of these teams deserves a bowl. Yeah, yeah, old man shouting at clouds, 6 wins should not mean a bowl, except it does. But: neither Baylor nor Tech has shown consistency, determination, resolve, or pride. I don't think either is a bowl team.

Well.....since they both have 5 wins one of them has to be a bowl team. Both teams can't lose.
