Briles won 50 games his last 5 years at Baylor. I understand the issues and why he had to go, but he did string together the best 5 consecutive years once he got the system going, that is from a pure W/L perspective, again I understand there were factors which meant he had to go.

Two NFL teams want him to interview is "damaging", but footsy on three separate occasions with conference rivals ain't nuttin' but a thang.

Teaff did not often beat national powers . Maybe over 20 years, 3-5 times.

These things are documented and quantifiable, so there's no maybe about it. Teaff beat four top-20 teams in 1974 alone, so you're already wrong.

For his career, he won 19 games against ranked opponents and tied three others, with all but four of those games coming against top-20 teams.

I have the utmost respect and appreciation for Coach Teaff and what he has done for Baylor on and off the field.

Again, apples and Oranges era. It's fruitless to compare them, the difficulty level that Teaff faced was a tier above the Briles era.

One interesting thing about the Grant Teaff era is that 73 of his 239 games (30 percent) came against ranked teams. People often denigrate his overall record, but it came against consistently strong competition.

How and why did this turn into Grant Teaff bash. He is 85 and STILL goes to every home football and mens and women's basketball games. He has more loyalty and character in his little finger than all of you haters combined. He has proven over and over, decade after decade that he loves BU and considers it home. He may not have won every game but what he did for Baylor is undeniable. Lay off.

In what alternate universe is that a Grant Teaff bash. Just stating his best years back to back were 10 and 8 wins, then 9 and 9 wins.

Even added he beat #3 USC. He was the best thing to ever happen to Baylor as far as a coach/ambassador for the school. That doesn't mean you can't talk about his best years ever as a coach.

Sometimes it is nearly as much fun to sit back and watch.

The reality is, we're sort of all sitting back and watching you trying in vain to continue to defend and praise Briles.

You're a bit late to the game. No one wants him back.

No one is as fine a man as Coach Teaff. If you look at pure coaching, and give Teaff an extra win each year for 8 years due to the old 11 game schedule, Teaff's first 8 years were 49-42 with 1 Title, while Art was 65-37 with 2 titles.
