BREAKING: Baylor lands 2020 Louisiana DE Alven Johnson

Baylor has landed a commitment from 2020 defensive end Alven Johnson‍ of Thrive Academy in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Johnson (6-4, 240) is Baylor’s fourth commitment ofthe 2020 class. 

Johnson took an unofficial visit to Baylor on March 24 after picking up an offer from the coaching staff on March 9.

I don't think we are in near the situation that we have been the last two years. If it feels different, it's bc it is, we're finally getting back to being close to full strength

I believe we now have one more commitment than we did at this time last year and the same number that we did at this time two years ago.

So, to answer your question . . . not really, no.

I think the NCAA ruling is still out there and uncertainty is a negative. Certainly can't be helping. I look forward to getting that behind us and letting Rhule and staff run forward. Assuming they (NCAA) don't overreach.

Scored well at Nike Opening (91), so athletic.. but only played football for 1 year. UAB is only other offer.. high ceiling, low floor prospect imo

His film shows great athleticism and so does his testing numbers. He's raw, but ready to be developed.
