Baylor's Jalen Hurd selected by 49ers in the 3rd round of the NFL Draft
On Friday evening in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft, Baylor wide receiver Jalen Hurd was selected by the San Francisco with the 67th overall pick. Hurd is Baylor’s first player taken in the draft since offensive lineman Kyle Fuller was taken in the seventh round by the Houston Texans in 2017.
Hurd (6-5, 226) led Baylor in receptions (69) and yards (946) while catching four touchdowns while playing in 12 regular season games. Hurd also added 48 carries for 209 yards and three touchdowns to give him 1,155 total yards and seven scores in his senior season.
Hurd missed the Baylor’s bowl victory with a knee injury and was unable to participate in the Senior Bowl or the NFL Combine while recovering from surgery.
A transfer from Tennessee, Hurd recorded 4,285 total yards and 33 touchdowns in his four-year collegiate career.
