WACO, Texas – Baylor women’s golf will compete in the 2019 Schooner Fall Classic, which runs Fridays through Sunday at Belmar Golf Club in Norman, Okla. The 54-hole tournament will be contested on a par-70, 6,048-yard course.

Baylor is part of a 15-team field and will face Alabama, Clemson, Florida State, Houston, Illinois, Louisville, Miami (Fla.), Mississippi State, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, TCU, Texas, Texas A&M and Texas State.

Baylor’s lineup is led by senior Erica Chiang, who is making her 2019-20 season debut. She’s followed by senior Fiona Liddell in the No. 2 spot, junior Gurleen Kaur at No. 3, graduate transfer Elodie Chapelet at No. 4 and junior Diane Baillieux at No. 5.

Teams will tee off for Friday’s first round beginning at 9:30 a.m. CT with tee times from the first and 10th tees. Baylor is coming off of fourth place finishes in each of its first two tournaments this season. The Bears opened the season taking fourth in an 11-team field at the Trinity Forest Invitational on Sept. 10, then followed by finishing fourth in a 13-team field at the Glass City Invitational on Sept. 17.

Kaur led the team and finished in third place individually at Trinity Forest, while Liddell, Baillieux and Chapelet all finished top-10 at Glass City, giving the Bears four players with top-10 finishes this season.

Kaur enters the tournament with a 73.09 stroke average across 57 career rounds, which is the second-best mark in program history behind only Hayley Davis’ 73.00. Baillieux ranks eighth on the all-time list at 74.92 across 61 rounds, while Liddell is 10th at 75.19 over 81 rounds.

BU has two more fall tournaments following the Schooner Fall Classic. The Bears play in the Betsy Rawls Invitational Oct. 12-13 at University of Texas Golf Club, then head to the Bahamas to play in the White Sands Invitational Oct. 28-30 at Ocean Club.
