From 1-11 to 7-0 in two short years, Baylor has been one of the best feel good stories of the 2019 season, but everyone knows that will change if Matt Rhule’s Bears continue to win. Beginning with WVU on Thursday evening, Baylor enters the toughest stretch of their season with upcoming games at TCU and at home against Oklahoma and Texas. Who’s in for the ride?

A flag I see at one of the tailgating spots on the peninsula sums up how I feel..."Everyone hates us...we don't care!"

We will definitely have to take it, nothing will be given to us, we have to make it impossible for them to deny us, as they have in the past. We must run the table and from here out, convincingly so...

Briles brought winning and swagger back to Baylor. We were oh so close to a national championship playoff ... and then the wheels came off and ALL the naysayers (who hated Bear success, but knew we would be a flash in the pan) got their wish when the scandal broke and looked like it would break what had been built. The new coach and a 1-11 season did not help. It was proof positive that Baylor just did not belong with the .. Big Boys.

Rhule had a plan. He recruited what he wanted. He brought in resources with resilience. He kept preaching ... believe in the process.

And instead of a decade away from possible success ... Baylor is on the doorstep to prominence and relevance ... again. Will it last? We shall begin to see on Halloween. Brewer and company stunk on ice last year against WVU. Of course, it helped that Charlie was sick and banged up and not himself, but we got pasted just the same. This team and Mr Brewer has not forgotten last year. Bad tastes can last way too long, but this Thursday they can remove that taste and give it to the Mountaineers. They can end the regular season at 13-0, 12-1, 10-2, 9-3, 8-4, or 7-5 ... its all possible. One thing is for sure - they are going Bowling ... and they have a legitimate shot to shock the nation ... and make those naysayers eat a plate of crow. Robert Browning once said (and you can find it etched in stone at the Browning Library) - A man's reach should exceed his grasp ... or what's a Heaven for? Keep reaching Bears ... heaven is within it.

Yes, if we use trick plays tomorrow they should not be like Oklahoma's late one.
