Prior to his time at Cedar Ridge, Bell was the head coach at Magnolia West High School. He has also spent time at Clifton, China Spring and Round Rock, where he was an assistant at Stony Point High School.
The inclusion of Bell on Baylor's staff makes him the second Texas High School Football coach to be added to the staff in recent days.
Rhule previously added former San Antonio Reagan head coach David Wetzel. The connections to the high school ranks in Texas were important for Rhule who was coming to Baylor without any connections to the state.
For the Bears from 2002-2006, Bell threw for 5,666 yards and 38 touchdowns as the starting quarterback. Those totals for Bell each rank No. 5 in Baylor's career totals.
