It's possible. It's also possible that he just doesn't have as much stamina as he used to. It comes with age. I'm glad that he looks healthy and that he's still sharp.

It is a great interview. It makes sense that he would use the Golden Rule as a coaching philosophy. I think that's one reason he was such a great coach.

Those of us who suffered through Bill Beall, and wished for the return of John Bridgers, didn't know what to think when Baylor hired Rudy Feldman to replace Beall in December of 1971.

We hardly knew you, Rudy. He quit Baylor the day after his hire was announced to stay at the University of New Mexico when offered a small raise. Thank goodness he did. It opened the door for Teaff.

Take a moment and look at who Baylor played and the scores of those games in Teaff's first season, 1972. Then compare those scores with Beall's last year. The contrast is amazing.

Teaff could be frustrating with his often predictable play calling, but what he accomplished with the terrible facilities and lack of support was incredible.

I loved his story about Ralph Storm. Storm owned Storm Drilling and had a daughter at Baylor when Teaff arrived. The joke around campus was that Storm gave so much money consideration was given to renaming the team the Storm Troopers.

At the very least, it should be a nickname--especially when they wear all white uniforms.

What a class guy. I've had the chance to say hi to him a number of times at sporting events and he has always taken the time to talk. His daughter went to Baylor at the same time as me so I ask about her and it's obvious his family is the joy of his life.

Great interview. He's clearly not a fan of the phrase Miracle on the Brazos. Probably because he feels it marginalized the hard work, preparation and execution that he the coaches and players Achieved.

Yep, I ran into him at a basketball game this year before Covid and we talked for several minutes and took a picture with. Have met him at other events too, always been gracious He is a genuinely a nice person and a true gentleman.
