Baylor’s VJ Edgecombe battled former Bear LJ Cryer with both finishing at 23 points. Cryer would finish 6-for-9 from three while Edgecombe pulled off a huge chase-down block of Cryer in the first half and another electric dunk in the second half.

VJ Edgecombe set the tone for the Green and Gold early with a nice three, some hustle plays and a lot of chirping on his way to an 18-point and seven-rebound standout performance. Norchad Omier one-upped Edgecombe by scoring 19 points and grabbing 12 boards.

Jeremy Roach scored a season-high 21 points to lead all scorers while Norchad Omier — stop me if this sounds familiar — registered another double-double, this time scoring 10 and rebounding 13 missed shots.

VJ Edgecombe went 5-for-8 from three and scored 14 points in the second period to aid Baylor’s comeback bid. However, his last-second, highly-contested layup attempt missed the mark and left the Bears down two with under two seconds to go.

The Bears gave up 1.17 points per possession while shooting an abysmal 36% from the field at the other end of the court, dooming the Green and Gold to their worst loss of the year resumé-wise.

The Bears fell down by as much as 14 points in the second half before cutting the deficit to just three points multiple times in a doomed comeback attempt.

Norchad Omier once again led the Bears in both points and rebounds with a double-double of 17 and 10. Langston Love matched Omer’s 17 points, making it three straight games with 15+ points...

The Bears turned the ball over 15 times resulting in 28 Houston points. Combine that with Baylor’s trouble rebounding in the first half, and the end result was a 25-point lead whittled down to the final deficit of 11 points.

Omier, Edgecombe, Love, Nunn and Celestine all scored in double-figures. There was a sour note to the victory with Joshua Ojianwuna going down with a knee injury in the first half.

The Bears started both halves well but could not finish. Norchad Omier led the Bears with 16 points and 12 rebounds while Robert Wright chipped in 15 points.

Robert Wright was massive for the Bears scoring a career-high 24 points to lead all scorers and dishing out six assists.

On a night where Baylor’s freshmen carried the load, the Bears were let down by veteran forward Norchad Omier.

Baylor started the game slowly yet again falling down 11-4 before launching into a 22-3 run to take control of the game. Fouls were a concern in the second half, but good defense saw the Bears through.

Edgecombe scored a career-high 30 points on 8-for-13 shooting and 11 key free throws. He was helped out primarily by Jalen Celestine who knocked down four triples and finished with 18 points and seven rebounds.

A late game-tying three from Jayden Nunn — who came off of the bench for eight points tonight — was not enough with Brendan Wenzel returning the favor to seal the game for TCU.

Not only was Baylor in the desert, but they were also in a scoring drought during the first half. The Bears shot 26% from the field and were 1-for-9 from long distance finishing the first 20 minutes down 42-19.

The Bears made a point of attacking the rim early on, scoring 22 points in the paint in the first period. That focus, combined with just three first-half turnovers, became a pair of decisive runs to grow a 15-point halftime lead.
