The Bears started both halves well but could not finish. Norchad Omier led the Bears with 16 points and 12 rebounds while Robert Wright chipped in 15 points.

Baylor started the game slowly yet again falling down 11-4 before launching into a 22-3 run to take control of the game. Fouls were a concern in the second half, but good defense saw the Bears through.
Not only was Baylor in the desert, but they were also in a scoring drought during the first half. The Bears shot 26% from the field and were 1-for-9 from long distance finishing the first 20 minutes down 42-19.
