Baylor baseball opened its 2024 campaign with a winless record at the Shriners Children’s College Showndown at Globe Life Field in Arlington but showed major signs of improvement compared to last year.
“[Competing] is to be expected,” head coach Mitch Thompson said walking off the field after Baylor’s 11-5 defeat to No. 9 Tennessee on Sunday night at Globe Life Field.
Baylor baseball (0-2) dropped its second contest of the Shriners Children’s College Showdown to Oregon (2-0), 7-4, Saturday afternoon at Globe Life Field.
Baylor baseball will open the season and kick off the Shriners Children's Showdown against Nebraska at 11 a.m. on Friday, followed by games against Oregon at 11 a.m. on Saturday and Tennessee at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday.
