Running Kodi on the FireTV is another topic entirely....
Literally just this week got my Kodi/FireTV working again after about of year of just not using it.
I upgraded Kodi to the latest 17.3 (I think) and run Elysium to get all movies, TV shows, etc. and it has been working great.
Are you having specific issues? Perhaps I can point you in the right direction.
Nope. It's running just fine.
I was just here for the age of Napster. Kodi, of course, started out as a project to allow Xbox users to use their gaming consoles as media servers. As these things are wont to do, it got ported and forked until it became the go-to app for "on the couch" viewing of all the delights the Internet stores.
Of course, most of this content is someone else's intellectual property. The plugins do nothing more than query and display the results of repositories already available (rightly or wrongly) by other means. However, the plugin developers are now finding themselves as the targets of vigorous prosecution as "pirates".
I mentioned Napster, because this approach is ultimately fruitless. It begins a never ending game of whack-a-mole where rights holders sue, developers fork and enhance, content decentralizes, and systems get a touch more complex.
The current Kodi environment is a little scattered.
