In my opinion, flip a coin. These are the two best pilots to have ever lived.

I was lucky enough to see Yeager fly a routine in a P51 and saw Hoover perform in a P38 and a Shrike Commander. Hoover's energy management routine in the Shrike really displayed his skills and his mastery of flying.

Neither of them really flew the planes. They both flew themselves with the plane being strapped to them at the time.

I'd put Robin Old's right up with there with both of them.

Go to 35:54 on the second clip and watch what Robin told the President about Vietnam.
