Anyone here concerned with AI expenditures going forward? I have traded PWR and VTX off and on without a lot of luck.

With the Texas grid always a challenge in winter I wonder how this could affect these power companies.

Tom Lee Claims S&P 500 Will Hit 7,700 by 2026, Says Ethereum Will Exceed $12,000

Kurt Robson
Fri, December 12, 2025 at 4:50 AM MST 3 min read

Key Takeaways
  • Tom Lee expects the S&P 500 to reach 7,700 by 2026.
  • Lee argues Ethereum is "grossly undervalued" at current levels.
  • The bullish analyst claimed Bitcoin could reach as high as $250,000 within months.
Fundstrat and BitMine's Tom Lee says the S&P 500 and major cryptocurrencies remain positioned for significant gains, even as markets face what he describes as a turbulent period of volatility.

The strategist began his career in finance as a research associate at Kidder P*****y in the early nineties. Lee also worked at Oppenheimer and Salomon Smith Barney, before later joining Wall Street giant JPMorgan (JPM).
Lee was ranked among top analysts for many years during his 15-year tenure at the leading investment bank. In 2014 he left JPMorgan to co-found Fundstrat, where he was one of the first well-known strategists to give research coverage to cryptocurrencies.

Ed Yardeni sees S&P 500 reaching 7,700 next year, says profits and growth will 'remain resilient'

Ed Yardeni explains why he no longer suggests overweighting techS

Brooke DiPalma Senior Reporter
Mon, December 8, 2025 at 12:19 PM MST 3 min read

On Wall Street, the "Roaring 2020s" will continue in the year ahead.

That's at least according veteran strategist Ed Yardeni, who wrote in a note to clients on Monday that he expects the S&P 500 to reach 7,700 by the end of next year.

"The Roaring 2020s remains our base-case scenario. For 2026, we are raising our subjective odds of this prospect from 50% to 60%. We are less concerned about a meltup [or] meltdown scenario now, so we are lowering the odds of that from 30% to 20%. We are keeping our bearish scenario at 20%," Yardeni wrote in a note.

Yardeni's forecast assumes earnings and the economy "remain resilient" and adds to this year's list of stock market outlooks, which have taken on a generally bullish tone.

Like some of his peers on the Street, Yardeni sees earnings growth powering stock prices.

"We expect that S&P 500 companies' collective earnings per share will increase from $268 this year to $310 next year," he wrote, which would be a 15.67% increase. In the third quarter, S&P 500 companies grew earnings by 13.4% from the prior year, according to FactSet data.

Yardeni expects economic growth to accelerate in 2026 too, citing Trump's focus on the affordability crisis, tax benefits from the One Big Beautiful Bill, baby boomers reaching retirement, monetary stimulus driven by a Fed rate cut, and the AI-driven tech boom, which has tech giants planning over $500 billion in capital expenditures.

Silver also hit a record high. Silver futures rose 0.8% to $71.03 a troy ounce. It is up 145% year to date. Gold futures slid slightly, but the precious metal is still up 70.4% year to date.

Has anyone had any experience with TEXIT coins? I tried to learn about them from their web site,
but after 3 words I'd never heard were used in the explanation of how they work, I gave up.

Should I ever bite the bullet and invest in gold or silver, I would buy ingots. You know exactly what you are getting. The gold and silver coins seem much more subjective as far as their current value.

Strategist Tom Lee says he's buying the AI stock dip, and Cisco holds the key

Unfazed by market jitters surrounding stocks lately, strategist Tom Lee says he's "buying the AI dip."
"I think it's turned into a panic around AI because the Korean stock market has taken out the July lows and people are talking about an AI debt problem," said Lee, the head of research at Fundstrat, in a video bulletin to clients late Monday.

Nasdaq-100 futures pointed to a drop on Tuesday after a 1.1% rally for the Nasdaq Composite on Monday. Korea's KOSPI stock index fell 3.7% on Tuesday after a recent multi-session pullback.

Korea stocks are seen by some as an AI proxy trade, and losses for the index and its big tech players such as SK Hynix have weighed on U.S. semiconductors and AI sectors at times.

Lee noted the "tale of two markets" facing investors lately. Month-to-date through Monday's close, the S&P 500 equal-weighted index was up 2.56% versus a 0.51% gain for the market-capitalization-weighted S&P 500 index, according to Dow Jones Market Data. The latter is dominated by a small group of large technology and AI companies.

The last time the equal-weighted index marked a new all-time high was Aug. 13, while the S&P 500's latest record was Oct. 6.

The strategist makes his bullish case on U.S. stocks by viewing the pullback through the lens of Cisco's performance of the early 1990s. The tech group traded around 80 cents during the launch of public internet in 1993 and 1994 as a provider of routers it was an immediate beneficiary, he noted.

I've pivoted into a defensive stagflationary portfolio reducing my equity exposure to 25% and deploying it in energy, health care, consumer staples, and defense. Another 25% into gold and commodities. 25% into 0-3 month treasury bills, and 25% into 1-3 year Treasury bonds. Another few hikes and I will extend the treasury exposure to ten years. 0% in tech at the moment. Macro thesis: ZIRP pulled profits forward and we are looking at a lost decade in the market with positive real rates with currency debasement being a real risk.

The blackpilled imvestor in me has also considered adding a position in NANC and GOP and flipping that based on the house majority. The thesis being that the house of representatives will always vote dollars or craft policy to support the share value of their own holdings, which is something the broader market can't rely on. The problem is both ETFs trail public knowledge of the insider trades and so congresmen can buy shares or take profits before the ETF can buy or sell those positions.

Also, has anyone been keeping track of the SECs move to change corporate reporting to twice a year instead of quarterly?
