Legend has it Tampa was the last City in the US mainland to be sacked by Pirates - the Pirate Josa Gaspar. Every January the Chamber (the Krewe) kidnap the Mayor and take over the City. Mayor has to raise money for Charity before rescued.

You do not want to be in Ybor this weekend if you are a prude, Adult parade can be very adult... Children's parade was last weekend.

Well, it will not be dry January in Tampa...
