Go see it! Fantastic film. We took our kids (4&6) and they loved it too. I hope this signals a return of feel good original movie musicals. And the music was great.

Ha! Nope. Not a bit of that nonsense. Just good old fashioned movie musical with a good message - essentially the golden rule meets imagination meets hard work meets traditional family meets a little swindling to make it all happen. Dealt with, but transcends, social issues at the time and focuses on relationships. Good show.

For all the Hamilton sycophants, this is what a REAL musical looks and sounds like.

Dropped my 14 yr old off to see it Saturday night. She loved it.

I had higher expectations of the music after La La Land, which I loved. But it was mostly a letdown in that department. Everything sounded the same and forgettably similar to a lot of what's current. The choreography OTOH was terrific. The storyline was good, better than most musicals.

If I'd seen this show on Broadway I would have left perfectly satisfied. But I don't feel like I need to ever see it again.
