He was such a nice man.

He looks very familiar and once I saw that he worked in the SUB it hit me where I knew him from but can't remember what his job was?

He was the barber in the sub for something like 52 years! He cut my hair many times as as student. Had no idea he won two bronze stars in WWII either.

Oh wow I didn't realize he was still there. I got my haircut by him many times.

I haven't been to a barber since 5th grade. Had I known of his military service especially with a bazooka, then I would have let him cut my hair just for the stories.

I am trying to remember where I went for a haircut. Can't think of it. I know I wore my hair longer in those days.

As the obituary mentions, he has a twin brother who is still alive. Very nice folks. They were in the same class as my mother at Pearl, west of Gatesville. What's unusual is that high school class of 13 or 14 my mom was in had two sets if identical twins: the Davis brothers and a set of twin girls. What are the odds? Ervin may have been one of the least-known long-running Baylor fixtures.

Great guy. I started with him as a freshman in 1970, but then all of our hair styles went long and I went elsewhere. Styled, long hair was not Ervin's forte.

Years later after the styles brought hairlines back up over the ears I walked by one day and asked if he would "take me back." He grinned, called me by name, and then turned to that ledger he kept and signed me up.

[All the while Norm was cutting the football guys' hair almost constantly]

A Baylor legend indeed.
