It's really not much of a partnership. One of us would take ALL of the financial risk while the other would receive most, but not all, of the benefits.

All you need is a couple of 95 year-old, WWII vet mechanics and your own machine shop for parts.

In the words of comedian Ron White, "all the way to the crash site."

It's a beautiful plane. There are still quite a few that are airworthy but, that isn't indeed a rare find.

My dad worked with a man ( Jimmy Dahauf-I'm almost positive that is not the correct spelling) at Owens-Illinois Glass Plant who, at the end of WWII, was a P51 fighter pilot instructor. They were great friends and he got my dad into flying.

He used to keep his Cessna 140 at The Flying Heart Ranch on Sth 3rd Street Road. Although that Cessna had a small engine, he could fly the heck out of it. I was lucky enough to go up with him a few times when I was a kid.

I really love the old warbirds and, when I was a kid, would go down to Harlingen, TX every October for the Confederate Air Force Airsho. They had since renamed the organization Commemorative Air Force and are now in Sweetwater, TX.
