I used to enjoy a lot of nights with some good music and art. I was on an invite list of a couple of dealers. After one opening, we went gallery hopping. I faintly remember catching some of Screamin' Jay Hawkins one night but that evening was a bit of a blur. The '80s weren't as bad as some of you think. Aside from the massive real estate and financial crisis spread throughout the city.

Your description of the venue sounds a lot like the old Club Clearview in Deep Ellum (back in the day). They had art on the walls and live bands.
It was back in the early 80s. I was fresh off of a divorce and checking things out as a newly single guy.

Mickey Bickers whos dad was in the old school Texas Mafia will be there. Bennie's pallbearers were Mickey Mantle and WO Bankston and the guy that voiced Balu the Bear. Bennie was also partners with Bennie Binion while he was still in Dallas. Mickey ran Suite 113.

We really need to work on a new documentary when you finish V bros - this history is off the charts!
