John Wesley Hardin - Bonham

John Wesley Hardin (May 26, 1853 August 19, 1895) was an American, Old West outlaw, gunfighter, and controversial folk icon. From an early age, Hardin often got himself into trouble with the law. Pursued by lawmen for most of his life, he was finally sentenced to 25 years in prison for murder in 1877. When he was sentenced, Hardin claimed to have killed 42 men[2] but newspapers of the day attributed only 27 deaths to him.[3] While in prison, Hardin wrote a biased autobiography and studied law. He was released in 1894. In August 1895, Hardin was shot to death by John Selman in an El Paso saloon.

If we are going with "associated with" as opposed to being born and raised there,

Charles Whitman - Austin

Austin

Charles Joseph Whitman (June 24, 1941 August 1, 1966) was an American mass murderer who became infamous as the "Texas Tower Sniper." On August 1, 1966, he used knives in the slayings of his mother and his wife in their respective homes and then went to the University of Texas in Austin with multiple firearms and began shooting people. He fatally shot three people inside the university tower. He then went to the tower's 28th-floor observation deck, where he fired at random people for some 96 minutes, killing an additional 11 people and wounding 31 others before he was shot dead by Austin police officers Ramiro Martinez and Houston McCoy. A total of 16 people were killed; a 17th victim died 35 years later from injuries sustained in the attack.[2][3][4][5]

The Ballad of Charles Whitman
by Kinky Friedman

[Verse 1]
He was sitting up there for more than an hour
Way up there on the Texas tower
Shooting from the twenty-seventh floor
He didn't choke or slash or slit them
Not our Charles Joseph Whitman
He won't be an architect no more

[Verse 2]
Got up that morning, calm and cool
He picked up his guns and went to school
All the while he smiled so sweetly
And it blew their minds completely
They'd never seen an Eagle Scout so cruel

[Verse 3]
Now won't you think of the shame and degradation
For the school's administration
He put on such a bold and brassy show
The Chancellor cried "it's adolescent
And of course it's most unpleasant
But I gotta admit it's a lovely way to go"

[Verse 4]
There was a rumour
About a tumour
Nestled at the base of his brain
He was sitting up there with his .36 magnum
Laughing wildly as he bagged them
Who are we to say the boy's insane?

[Instrumental Break]

[Verse 5]
Now Charlie was awful disappointed
Else he thought he was anointed
To do a deed so lowdown and so mean
The students looked up from their classes
Had to stop and rub their glasses
Who'd believe he'd once been a marine?

[Verse 6]
Now Charlie made the honour roll with ease
Most all of his grades was A's and B's
A real rip-snorting, trigger squeezer
Charlie proved a big crowd pleaser
Though he had been known to make a couple C's

[Verse 7]
Some were dying, some were weepin'
Some were studying, some were sleepin'
Some were shouting, "Texas number one,"
Some were running, some were fallin'
Some were screaming, some were bawlin'
Some thought the revolution had begun

[Verse 8]
The doctors tore his poor brain down
But not a snitch of illness could be found
Most folks couldn't figure just a-why he did it
And them that could would not admit it
There's still a lot of Eagle Scouts around

It's easy, you just don't lead them as much.

A frame from his infamous prison video. Speck sporting his prison estrogen boobs chilling it with his cell block pimps. You don't want to see anymore of the video unless you are relatives of the nursing students he slaughtered.

Carl Eugene Watts

aka The Sunday Morning Slasher

Expelled from college in Tennessee where he played football for multiple rapes and a suspected murder of a girl (long before Title IX), he did what most psychopaths do that don't move to California, he moved to Houston, Texas. Under a plea bargain, he confessed to killing and assaulting 12 women in Texas. Died in prison in Michigan where he grew up. Claimed he killed 40 women. Hinted he killed around 80. Police suspect he killed a hundred. Suspected in some Canadian rapes/murders. robed is pretty sure he was framed.

He earned every one of those medals. He won the "Medal of Honor at the age of 19 for single-handedly holding off an entire company of German soldiers for an hour." (Wiki)
At 19 I was living in the Treehouse Apartments on Speight allegedly across from fubar. Eating generic food from HEB. Not much of a comparison.
Dude, one of the best parties I went to at BU was at the Treehouse Apartments. That was back in 1972, BTW.

Same shag carpeting in 1982 & 1983. If the apartments are still there, then I would not be surprised if the shag is still going strong.
