It wasn't quite the usual one, but we celebrated it late, with our family, in that style that is unique to Texas, west of the Pecos River.

Great photos and admire you for being tough enough to live out there. I lived in Ozona for a while...absolutely hated it...wife hated it even more.

The drive from Ozona to Fort Stockton is very beautiful but too remote for my tastes.

Ozona isn't exactly the garden spot of Texas.
My family has been here in Pecos Country for over 100 years, so I have some built-in friendships to make it a bit easier. Plus I got sick of all the Dallas traffic, so we moved out here three years ago and have no regrets.

That 100-year stuff is very cool!!!

Ozonans think they ARE the garden spot. Very weird place. Met nice people in Iraan and McCamey, but again, I've turned into a city person in my "older" age.

That's my daughter, and she graduated UT-Austin (in only three years) so she can wear it as long as she likes because she saved her daddy another year of college expenses!!!
