You might be pleasantly surprised how few times you have to track down recoil springs that launched across the room narrowly missing your eyes before you have the correct take down procedure figured out....
Seriously, I wouldn't let presumed complexity be an issue. YouTube is your friend. I have a Walther PPKs I love as well as a Smith Bodyguard .380 when there's a need for something pocket sized. Have a couple of others including a Norinco 1911 clone. The Chinese made a surprisingly stout Colt knock-off. Nice platform for mods.
Currently kind of interested in an old-school S&W revolver in 357 or 327 magnum. The newish Sig P365 is really hot right now for carry.
