Anybody ever been. I went this past weekend and they must have had around 500k people down there. Lots of fun and every time I have been to San Antonio it was always a lot of fun. The best time was during the Alamo Bowl when BAylor played Washington. It was nice to see some Baylor people down there.

Fiesta is a big deal.
Very cool thing they do.
Like the Tyler Rose festival.........but in a major city.....and with ALOT more drinking and partying.

I grew up in San Antonio and grew to hate it. Haven't been since I was 24.
What made you hate it?
I could imagine growing to hate 500k people in my city over a weekend. I grew up in Austin and we all hate SXSW and ACL for the same reason.

Fiesta isn't really debauchery, btw. Well, some of it. It's mostly a family event.

SXSW also became front and center to the "everyone wants to be counterculture" effect. In the beginning, the annoyances were offset by having a bunch of unsigned, undiscovered bands show up for a week. It took like 2 years before it became a sought after badge for those constantly chasing cool.
