I looked it up. Some call them capes or gowns, many old-school barbers call them "chair cloths". There are several other names, although calling them smocks doesn't seem very common.

As common as they are, one would think that the name would be more standardized and well-known.

Anyway, those are some pretty unusual ones on that video. Obviously, that's what distinguishes this barber shop from most.

I stopped by Tommie's Old School Shop earlier today for some trim and to get my hat blocked. Things were slow when I arrived and the staff was buffing every knob in the place until things picked up.

I might go in for a haircut sometime.
