The Kentucky references confused me a little. I remember her as Miss Texas that became Miss America. A beautiful lady that also had brains to go with the beauty. RIP Phyllis George.

She became First Lady when she married Governor John Y. Brown who made his fortune franchising Kentucky Fried Chicken
