I sold my old school smoker and bought a Rec-Tec 680. I may now be in meat smoking heaven. It is a pellet smoker but supposedly is the best at maintaining temps. I have twice cooked for 13 hours since I bought it two weeks ago. The most the temperature ever varied was two degrees.

It can only be purchased direct from Augusta, GA. The owners include their cell numbers on a card with your purchase. Out of about 2000 reviews they didn't have a single review of "1". Almost all 5 and some 4.

Now I need to figure out why I have two large screws left over after assembly.

Hmmm.....

Nothing wrong with a pellet smoker. Only things I've ever heard bad about them is that you have to keep the moving parts clean or risk the thing stopping with a hot pellet and the resulting chance of a fire.
