Diamondbacks used to take reservations and 135 Prime as well. Not sure you will get reservations for either on short notice.
I'm coming in for the spring game and last night I made reservations at Diamondbacks for tomorrow night. It appeared to be wide open based on the times available, so on a normal Saturday night it doesn't seem to be too difficult to get a reservation there.loanbear said:nein51 said:

These are your two options and reservations are usually pretty full on a normal Friday/Saturday let alone graduation weekend. Might be able to get in early or late. Both also have bar areas that are open seating so you could try that route.

Graduation weekend is nuts...especially spring graduation. That is why whenever I am invited to a graduation dinner I selflessly volunteer to skip the ceremony and go save a table at George's.
I'm sure your "sacrifice" is appreciated!Crash Davis said:

Trying to accommodate grandparents as well. This could be "fun". :/
May be driving to Salado.....
Thanks everyone!
Honestly this is what I would do. Cheeves is far superior to both 135 and Diamondbacks, and it won't be affected by BU graduation at all. Of course, the downside is the 45 minute drive, but that's not too bad.LRA Bear said:MamaBtn said:

The Range in Salado, or try Pignetti's (Italian) or Cheeves (steak) in Temple.
Salado has had lots of closures because of I35 rebuild. Be sure you don't assume.MamaBtn said:

I rarely eat at Diamondbacks, so that would not surprise me. I think 135prime is much better so we always eat there. Depends on preferences and location. I like 1424 but don't think it is close to 135prime in terms of food. Morosos is good and always packed if you are looking for pizza. Wish we had a few more unique upscale options in Waco, but we are limited in that regard.covadad said:I'm coming in for the spring game and last night I made reservations at Diamondbacks for tomorrow night. Interesting.......I would put 135 Prime way above those two.GoldenBear03 said:
Diamondback's is my favorite, however 1424 is a solid backup too.
If Moroso's is packed, put your name on the wait list and go next door to Hemmingway's. Small hole in the wall "pub" style bar with a boat load of craft beer. Moroso's will text you when your table is ready.BaylorGuy314 said:
Moroso's is a good backup plan if Diamondbacks or 135 Prime fall through.
What is she choosing between?MamaBtn said:
You folks are great and very helpful. Wish I had put you on the task of recruiting my second daughter!!!
Down to one week to go and she can't make the OBVIOUS correct choice! afraid it's too familiar....
Moroso's is outstanding, but it is primarily a pizzeria with some very good appetizers and salads. Yes, it has some sandwiches and a couple of special pasta dishes, but I would still classify it as a pizzeria and not as a true Italian restaurant. That said, the pizza is close to the way it is in Italy and it's one of my favorite places to go. The full Italian restaurants in Waco are mediocre at best. Pignetti's in Temple is a better full restaurant than anything in Waco if you want nicer than pizza.BayNavFreak said:
Moroso is another option. It's a new Italian restaurant and probably he best Italian food in Waco. They import all their ingredients from Italy and the prices are not as crazy as Diamondbacks (not sure about 135 Prime). The wait time is always ridiculous but they take 'day of' reservations.
Nope, but part of the family runs the Clay Pot.Gold Tron said:

We went to Diamondbacks the other weekend and I was very underwhelmed. The desserts were impressive but everything else was meh.
I would too. No comparison. I enjoy 1424, especially sitting on the patio, but for a really nice meal 135 Prime does it way better. It's easier to get into now with the large new outdoor seating area.CTbruin said:Interesting.......I would put 135 Prime way above those two.GoldenBear03 said:

That's right. I forgot. Have you been? Any good? With the scheduled work on I-35 I wonder if it will get taken under eminent domain.forza orsi said:Nope, but part of the family runs the Clay Pot.Gold Tron said:

Theyre moving downtown, between Barnett's and Truelove.Gold Tron said:That's right. I forgot. Have you been? Any good? With the scheduled work on I-35 I wonder if it will get taken under eminent domain.forza orsi said:Nope, but part of the family runs the Clay Pot.Gold Tron said:
