We may have some morons on our BOR but i doubt anyone at Baylor is dumb enough to turn down the $100mill/year to be in the best conference in the land.drahthaar said:

I dont get any of the money but I just want to go see games at places like the swamp, Athens, death valley, and tailgate at the grove.PartyBear said:
I would actually prefer not to but I would still say we go only because of the $$$.
well, on this list, Baylor is 21st. Baylor has 0 hope if the SEC only goes to 20. I do think we have a chance if they expand to 24.PartyBear said:
I'm curious about the context are these the odds if the Big 2 go to 18, 20 or what?

We have been outspent and outmanned by Texas, aggy and OU our whole lives so it's not very terrifying imo. Nothing terrifying about playing Mizz, MIss St, Vandy, Ole Miss, UK, UTvols, UThorns, sooners & ags. Also, once Saban retires the deck may reshuffle a bit.BaylorGrad09 said:
Would be great to no longer be worried about the implosion, but man that's a terrifying arms race to enter
they would never consider baylor for a couple reasons. one, like you mentioned, isnt AAU. But also, all big 10 schools (sans Northwestern) are all 40,000+). the BIG values big brands in big markets (sans the founding members of the BIG). They will not covet the Waco market and if they turned down Oregon and Washington because they didnt bring enough money to the table- Baylor certainly wouldnt. It's about eyeballs and while baylors product is good, we dont have the wal-mart warriors SEC and BIG have. those that support Baylor are tied to it in some way (parents went, kids went, etc) and we have a smaller student population than theyd like.BaylorGrad09 said:Bear2014 said:well, on this list, Baylor is 21st. I'm actually curious why the Big 10 doesn't try to move south to get more options. They've already gone to the west coast, so clearly they've given up on geography being important. Everyone talks about FSU / Clemson / Miami being shoe ins for the SEC, but SEC has Florida and Big10 could make some noise getting some strong schools in the southern part of the country.
If they try to take on the SEC directly by going into their territory, I wonder if Baylor would ever be considered. They aren't AAU, but Baylor is R1 now.
dont forget the gamecocks and possibly Arkansas! but also, Florida seems to be on shaky ground.. so throw t hem into the list as well.muddybrazos said:We have been outspent and outmanned by Texas, aggy and OU our whole lives so it's not very terrifying imo. I usually go up to Columbia when aggy comes to town. Poor cocks have never beaten the ags yet and their fans who arent completely hammered have battered wife syndrome.Bear2014 said:dont forget the gamecocks and possibly Arkansas! but also, Florida seems to be on shaky ground.. so throw t hem into the list as well.muddybrazos said:We have been outspent and outmanned by Texas, aggy and OU our whole lives so it's not very terrifying imo. SEC needs another private school.....why not BU
Tech thought they were a lock for the Pac12 the last time realignment happened. And now many of them think the SEC really needs another Texas school. I live in Lubbock, and listen almost daily to my friends tell me how they are (just about to be) the big dog in the conference.blackie said:
(I say this in jest.).......where is TT and TCU who believe that we shouldn't even be in the Big XII (which is rich coming from TT)? Tech thinks they are at the top of the list to be plucked every time realignment comes up.....still waiting for that B1G invite (perhaps they are funning out of pizzas up there). There are a few sane people there that see reality, but those are few and far between.
I've no doubt the BOR would do virtually anything for moneymuddybrazos said:We may have some morons on our BOR but i doubt anyone at Baylor is dumb enough to turn down the $100mill/year to be in the best conference in the land.drahthaar said:

I think both Tech and OSU would come out ahead of us if a battle for slots in another conference needed to be decided. I'm think OU is working to get OSU in SEC.beardoc said:Tech thought they were a lock for the Pac12 the last time realignment happened. Dang. I'm not talking about turning it down. Maybe this will help: the odds of us accepting are greater than the odds of getting an invite, as thing appear at this point in time.muddybrazos said:We may have some morons on our BOR but i doubt anyone at Baylor is dumb enough to turn down the $100mill/year to be in the best conference in the land.drahthaar said:
