Wearing gold is a simple ask
Sure its a simple ask, the first one always is. But we know it ends up (because we've seen it), with people wanting others to squeeze their nuts, wear farmer overalls with patches on them and attend midnight yell practice to grow the brand and help the team win (along with other disgusting behaviors that are defended as tradition). But that's just one terminal example, you may be able to think of others: throwing tortillas, that idiotic bending up and down to the Wabash Cannonball, any friking thing at all that involves wearing purple, or spending money to attend a spring game come quickly to mind.
Its just a football game. Be chill. Have fun. Be you.
the extreme desire some of yall have to constantly compare asking fans to wear a color that helps our fan base appear as if we are actually not there vs a bunch of empty seats to A&M or Tech or any other school that has a tradition you dont follow is just plain lazy and dumb.
You likely will never admit it but feeling like a school and other fans asking you to wear gold is gonna lead us down some path towards new traditions you dont like is rediculous. But we know what your real issue is and it is no different than that of so many of our fans who refuse to stand up at any point and the most noise they make at a game is to yell at others to sit down and stop cheering so loud. Baylor fans are notorius for wanting games to be a bible study. It is a college sporting event. It should be full of passion. Break the stigma of the last 100 ****ing years and maybe we can finally grow our brand and be more than just a tiny bubble in central texas that nobody cares about.
wearing gold does not equal yell practice and grabbing your balls any more than throwing the ball to score a touchdown makes you the same as A&M because they too pass the ball
