This will be interesting to watch this year. We were outrushed in the first half against a clearly inferior team. We did not seem to physically dominate this team at the line early. It's honestly the only aspect of our game that makes me nervous.

And Sqwirl has great initial burst too. Just think he'll have to be used in certain situations instead of an every down back because of potential for injury.

Of course. But he's not gonna have 15 carries vs. OU, Ok State, UT, etc. It was just a jet sweep that might happen once, maybe twice in a game. Grimes RVO offense is built on having a durable back.

I'm sure he doesn't but we have our scrubs out there literally running base plays. Hard to do much else but kneel three times and punt.

I know the coaching staff is super high on Nabors, a true frosh. I can see why now.

For the record, Nacua of BYU went out with an ankle injury in the 1st half of BYU's game tonight against USF and didn't return. Initial reports are that is a sprain and not broken. But he may be somewhat slowed for our game next week.

The future looks bright in Waco. Drones looks like a very athletic QB that will cause trouble, and Reese looks ready sooner rather than later. Lots of fun to come.

I don't disagree. In this game, though, the workload has been shared super-widely. BYU won't know who to focus on. That means trying to sell out on efforts to pressure our QB will probably be their goal, which will be tough against Shapen and our O-line.

According to ESPN we have 7 penalties for 3,014 yards. That's gotta be some kind of record.

That will be an interesting off-season battle I expect to be similar to Shapen / Bohanon. In an "ideal" world Shapen balls out over the next 2 years and looks like a lock too 10 pick and leaves early. Then Drones comes in an does great as a red shirt junior (Heisman!) and leaves early. and finally Novosad comes in as a redshirt sophomore and (as expected) does fantastic.

In all likelyhood only one of Drones Novosad will finish in Waco, but competition will be good.
