Does anyone know how to get in touch with the McLane DJ to suggest a song or two be played at the upcoming game?

Or that they not blast the music during kickoffs. It's not even worth it to do Sic'Em Bears any more because you can't hear it over whatever rap-crap is blaring.

Amen…doing the "Sic 'em Bears" is basically nonexistent these days, and that sucks.

The people at BYU were so enamored by our kick off "Sic'em Bears" cheer/yell/chant. I assumed every one did that.. they did not. But i agree, i think its fun to hear on TV, and in person. Not lil whomever rapping about cars, money and loose women

I think in stadium DJ's went out in about 2019, so BU's timing is just about its standard.

I don't mind the addition of the DJ. It brings in more variety and probably plays to the musical tastes of the students. What I do mind is when both the DJ and band(s) play at the same time. That is just noise and my ears suffer. Seems like a little coordination would create a better fan experience. And I agree that the fans should carry the kickoffs with our Sic Em Bears. One other thing, why do we practice our back and forth Baylor Bears before the game, but never do it during the game?

Having a DJ at a college football game…

I actually read an article about schools trying to keep fan engagement up and almost about every major school has a dj at games we have to obviously keep fans engaged especially the students and with recruits being there we have to appeal to them as well, I'm sure you can't get to hype for a football game listening to hillsong worship

Doesn't have to be an all or nothing scenario.

If they would play the f'n game instead of having a TV timeout every 30 seconds of game time and endless official reviews, they wouldn't need filler to keep fans engaged. The game would keep them engaged.

These pauses radically change the game. A team makes a great defensive stand and instead of allowing the momentum (for both the team and fan enthusiasm) to swing right over to the offense they have to wait until after the 3.5 minute For Hims, Miller Lite, Dodge Truck,Gieco/Liberty Mutual/State Farm commercial break.

According to this article SportsMonday: Commercial breaks are ruining college football (michigandaily.com) In 1998 the average college game lasted a tad over 3 hours, and there were certainly commercials back then. The average in 2021 was 27 minutes longer than that. So there are 45 minutes to an hour of extra time taken up because of commercials and booth reviews. An hour that has to be filled with something that is not football and always gets filled with the most awful crap imaginable (in stadium ads for TF'n Bank, Tiff's treats promos, dance cam, kiss cam, baby races and other drek).

Jesus didn't care too much for traditions on this Earth. Neither should we if they are now obsolete.

Tradition would say we need to dress up in a sport coat and a tie to watch a game. That's stupid. You don't dress like a European in Texas where we are parallel with Egypt, India and the Middle East. You dress for the weather you live in, not the weather you came from.

Marching bands, cheerleaders, all obsolete because of modern technology. Use technology if it's better than what we had before, don't use it if it's not.

It won't be long until there's a live DJ on the berm with a DJ board hyping up the crowd. It won't be long until there's laser lights and all the stuff you see at a concert. The new experience will be football + a live concert.

If you stick to your traditions too long, eventually the students just stay at home on TikTok instead of watching your boring game their granddad watched when he was alive.

Let me state it clearly: evolve or die gramps.

There's room for both-- they do need to coordinate better though-- like during a 3min TV timeout, band gets 1:30 and then get the hype moving with the DJ for the remainder. They post how long the timeouts are going to be on the field. This year's DJ is really good. He also plays Cowboys' games. DJElusive is his name. Though I may not know or like all he's spinning, the kids do and that's all that matters. You get kids into the game, you get everyone into the game.

I'm not a luddite, but keep the band, cheerleaders, the traditions, etc. Why? that's what makes college football unique vs pro football. And that is good!

I am 42 years old and don't care for most rap music. There's still plenty of music that can be played to hype up a crowd that doesn't have the language spoken on an oil rig.

The uniqueness of college football is players play for free…oh wait.

The uniqueness of college football should really be the ties you have to the school. We shouldn't be using analog technology just because it's tradition. That's stupid.

I have all the respect in the world for my parents and grandparents generation. All the respect. They just don't know how to hype up a 20 year old kid.

DJ was not good today. Lay off the rap music and stick to songs everyone knows. Half the stuff today was not hype; it should have been more interactive with the crowd we had. Be ready for homecoming. Play what the people know, don't just cater to what you think students want to hear. They know the old stuff too, guaranteed.

He posts a request form link on the premium board. I guess the unwashed poors are not worthy of making song requests.

Regardless, he didn't play any of the five I submitted on his form, which was no surprise. Sounded like pretty much the same stuff as the previous weeks. If it was different then previous songs were replaced by songs that sound basically the same, which is what music is these days.

Look up DJ Elusive and request the form. Good luck with that.
